School University Partnerships Show Promise in the Support of
Teacher Quality in High Needs Schools


Seven Schools and approximately 30 teachers served as liaisons for the USC Teacher Quality Partners Project. The leadership and accomplishments of these teachers during this five year project was significant and clearly shows how collaboration and support can make a difference in high needs schools. These teachers have received the following honors and recognition for this work:

  • 11 have been named Teacher of the Year in their project school
  • 11 have earned National Board Certification
  • 5 have received special honors
  • 3 currently serve on District, State and/or National Committees
  • 1 received the 2005 Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching
  • 3 have been accepted into doctoral programs
  • 1 has been named a Holmes Scholar
