Bradley Elementary School Inquiry Projects
Fall 2003 - Spring 2004

Bradley Campus Native Habitat Restoration Project
Lead Teachers: Betsy Russell, Margo Jackson, Kezia Myers, Judy Spears, Wanda Moore, Michelle Kennedy
Inquiry Question: What can we learn about the original ecology and habitat around our school in order to restore part of our campus to its original likeness as far as plant and animal life are concerned?

The Care Team
Lead Teachers: Janet Campell, Tiffany Taylor, Sharlene Golden, Karin Springfield (USC Intern Teacher)
Inquiry Question: If Students are showing, in various ways, that they care about the well-being of others, will their misbehavior decrease and in turn show their peers, classmates, and adults that they care for them? Will they be able to express their ideas through conversation and journaling?

Famous Historical Individuals that We Can Count On
Lead Teacher: Margo Jackson
Inquiry Question: If students are introduced via drama to the contributions of famous historical individuals, will this strengthen their knowledge and interest in the areas of social science, math and literature?

 
 

Writing: Thinking through the Process
Lead Teacher: Kezia Myers
Inquiry Question: If students have daily opportunity to write drama variety of 'authentic' themes, will their writing improve both in content and mechanics?

Resource Lab
Lead Teacher: Margo Jackson
Request for Technology: Students and interns will be videotaped throughout the year. This camera will help the interns document their experience at our school. It will also assist all teachers involved with an inquiry project document and provide information for the TQC website.
